Bible Corruption vs. Quran Corruption

October 5, 2006 · 2 Comments

Nowhere in the Quran, the Bible is referred to as being textualy corrupted. The verses in the Quran that Muslims use to accuse the Bible with textual corruption are only attempts used by some Muslims to defend Islam. Even if the Quran were to accuse the Bible of corruption, to substantiate this would be extremely difficult in light of what we have today in the manuscript and archaeological evidence. Regardless of the accusations people make, whether the Quran or the Bible is corrupt, each has to stand on its own. The Quran to be proven divine, has to stand under the light, and be examined and found reliable historically, archaeologically, prophetically, scientifically, and textually. The same examination needs to be done on the Bible. These accusations, however, can be answered by simply examining some of these verses; “Can ye (O ye men of Faith) entertain the hope that they will believe in you? Seeing that a party of (more…)

Do Muslims and Christians speak the same language?
J.M.

The first time I heard it I was a bit stunned. My friend, Blama (a West African form of the name Ibrahima) held out his hands, face down. He extended both index fingers straight out, held them firmly pressed together side-by-side and stated, “The Muslim and the Christian are like this. No difference.” Here I had been trying to convince him that the two religions were very different and now he was telling me that we were the same. I was doing my best to point out the dissimilarities between our Scriptures, our God, our prophets and how we ought to live. Apparently, Blama saw things differently (more…)

Africa: Rumors in Developing World Slow Vaccine

October 5, 2006 · 1 Comment

KANO, NIGERIA — For Ramatu Garba, the polio vaccine is part of an evil conspiracy hatched in the West to sterilize Nigerian girls.

“Allah used Muslim scientists to expose the Western plot of using polio vaccines to reduce our population,” said the 28-year-old Muslim food vendor in Kano.

Each time health teams have tried to vaccinate her daughter, Garba has refused.

It’s been three years since local politicians began a campaign of fear and rumor, claiming the polio vaccine would sterilize children. Those unfounded fears still persist today, and it’s this myth, and others like it, that are largely responsible for the spread of polio into almost two dozen other countries where it was once stamped out. Take real estate, for instance: According to research firm Jones Lang LaSalle, Americans spent more than $12 billion on foreign commercial real estate ventures last year, almost double the amount they invested in 2004. Meanwhile, (more…)
