Please make available name of the twelve
am nonny,a banking and finace student of university of nigeria. i am very happy for the increase of the micro finace institution. it is a development in nigeria.
It is a good idea to increase the micro finance banks in nigeria but the most vital isuue is “will it get to the target market” if the ordinary nigerians on the streets can get this i believe it will move their standard of living to the next level. Also i think a vital regulatory body should be set aside by the central bank to monitor this financial institutions making sure that required people are the once that get the loans form this banks.
I am a student of redeemers university. its really nice having microfinance banks in nigeria.I see nigeria as a better world. Please make it available in the market cos not everybody is aware of such a bank in nigeria. thank you
I think CBN should accelerate approval of this micro finance banks to boost target market confidence in the industry. This would go a long way to assure the survival of the banks in the face of limitations to getting deposits required for loans and advances.
The no of microfinance banks already licensed in Nigeria,as at March 2008, are over 800. I believe more will still get licensed afterall, Nigeria has an intimidating population of over 150 million people. I think the more the merrier for Nigerians since they are supposed to be the grassroot providers of microcredits. I think the issue should also be that of focus- these MFB’s must attend to the poor, alleviate poverty by greatly encouraging micro-entrepreneurs. Thanks.
A welcome developement in Nigeria more integration of services is expected between them such as inter bank clearing and local money transfer, these are the machinery that makes banking attractive and convinient in the 21st century. MFB is most accessible to grassroot people and what is obtainable at the mega banking section should be introduce at least for a fair competition. People needs conviniency in their banking deals and they must not be out-rightly denied.
Cheers.
Its actually an improvement in the micro scheme way, because it will help those who cannot afford the high borrowing costs at the commercial banks to get an assitance to improve their lives, i think more efforts should be put in geting more of the Micro Finance Bank scheme running.
I want your bank in helping with a loan so I can start a tansportation and be paying back little by little till I m able to pay it all. God bless you as you help me and my faily with a loan.
Obafemi
The best way to ensure that the MSME sector in Nigeria grow is to provide adequate funding to MicroFinance Institutions. This is why we are all greatful to have an organisation such as micromentor int’l in this great country of our’s. it’s a very good source for corporate, debt and equity finance not only to MFI/MFB, but also for commercial banks and other institutions both financial and non financial
I work with Flourish Microfinance Bank base in Lagos Island. Microfinance Banks have been a success in the area of alleviating poverty among the active poor in the country.
microfinance bank is a goog concept and must be guided seriouly while its sustainability should be uphold
i presently work with moneywise microfinance bank plc in ikeja lagos nigeria and it has been a wonderful experience.
microfinance bank are realy doing their best, what i will implore nigerian govt to do is to give equal support to the MFB just like the mega banks because development start from the community.
There future of microfinance Banks in Nigeria is bright if we change our attitude, of not willing to pay debt.
we have seen the better side of microfinance bank and as well as the other side.
i still insist that this is a good biz but the cbn should do everything possible to clean up the system,
The emergence of micro finance banks in nigeria is a very good development. There is still a large market to target in the economy for efficiency and proper utilization of funds to the masses.Kudos to our able CBN governor!!!
A fresh graduate from a Nigerian university, pls i strongly advice against the monopolization of the sector by a few rich Nigerians, there should be enough room for concepts and display of new products and services in the market.
